Saint George the Great Martyr The Trophy Bearer belongs to the choirs of the great martyrs and is one of the most popular Saints of our Church.
He lived at the end of the 3rd century AD. and the beginning of the 4th during the reign of Diocletian.
His time was a time of harsh persecution and extermination against the Christian Faith. George had a great office.
He was a count and was distinguished in all military operations for his bravery and valor.
For all his glory and honor, however, he did not refuse to sacrifice everything and to confess openly before the emperor and many rulers his Christian faith.
He endured many tortures and horrors that in the end made him a Great Martyr.
